COMMON QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about root canal treatment at Dental Quest – Dwarka Sector 19

How long do dental implants last?

With proper care, regular dental visits, and good oral hygiene, dental implants can last for many years and often provide a long-term solution for missing teeth.

Can I replace all my teeth with dental implants?

Yes. Full-mouth rehabilitation options such as implant-supported bridges and All-on-4 or All-on-6 treatments can replace multiple or all missing teeth.

Is dental implant surgery painful?

The procedure is performed under local anesthesia, making it comfortable for most patients. Mild soreness after surgery is normal and can usually be managed with prescribed medications.

Am I a candidate for dental implants?

Most healthy adults with adequate jawbone support are candidates for implant treatment. A detailed clinical examination and diagnostic imaging will determine your suitability.

How long does the implant treatment take?

Treatment duration varies depending on individual needs. While traditional implant treatment may take several months due to healing requirements, some patients may qualify for immediate implant solutions.

Are dental implants better than dentures?

Dental implants offer greater stability, improved chewing efficiency, better bone preservation, and a more natural feel compared to conventional dentures.

CGHS cover and honest comparisons

The questions patients ask us most that are not covered above.

Is a dental implant covered under CGHS?

Dental implants are not on the CGHS dental schedule, so they are not covered. Crowns, bridges and dentures are covered. Where a CGHS-covered alternative such as a bridge is clinically appropriate for your case, we will explain that option alongside the implant rather than only presenting one.

Should I choose a dental implant or a bridge?

An implant leaves the neighbouring teeth untouched and preserves the jawbone under the gap. A bridge is faster and is CGHS-covered, but it requires preparing the healthy teeth on either side to support it. Neither is universally right, and we will explain the trade-off for your specific gap at the consultation.

Will I need a bone graft before an implant?

Sometimes. When a tooth has been missing for a while, the jawbone that supported it resorbs, and there may not be enough left to hold an implant securely. A graft rebuilds it, which adds a few months to the timeline. We assess this from an X-ray at your consultation, before you commit to anything.

Can all my teeth be replaced with implants?

Yes. A full arch is usually restored on four to six implants supporting a fixed bridge, rather than one implant per tooth. This gives a fixed, non-removable result and is planned as part of full mouth rehabilitation.
